Improve Mealtimes With A Footrest
Highchair footrests promote proper posture which encourages trunk stability and facilitates a safe swallow. The ideal positioning for eating is hips, knees and ankles at 90 degree angles with feet resting on a support surface.
When a baby's feet are dangling, they tend to move and fidget more as they seek a comfortable position. This distraction keeps them from focusing on the real task at hand - eating! When their legs are stable, they are able to concentrate on chewing, swallowing and the fine motor skills needed to grasp food or a fork and bring it to their mouth. A comfortable baby or toddler will want to stay in their highchair longer and participate in eating.
If you've noticed your child crossing their ankles, kicking their legs, not wanting to eat or getting distracted while in the highchair, it might be because they are missing that foot stability! As they grow, problems like fussiness at the table, refusing to eat, and pickiness can often be traced back to their highchair and how they're sitting for meals.
What Real Moms Are Saying:
"I am in TEARS!! 😭 We have been struggling with solids for a few months now. Our daughter was never super engaged or excited about eating. She’s always grunting and kicking her legs and just looked plain uncomfortable! I’ve been feeling so defeated.
THIS FOOTREST IS A GAME CHANGER! She devoured her food tonight, I had to give her MORE food. My husband and I honestly couldn’t believe our eyes. There was no resistance from her, just a happy girl enjoying her pasta! THANK YOU for designing not only such a gorgeous product, but a key tool when it comes to solids!"
"Our girl didn't eat much, constantly swinging her feet or rocking in her high chair. The footrest has made SUCH a difference in her eating and makes mealtimes so much more relaxing for all of us. So grateful you've shared a product with us that's so affordable and is clearly so necessary!"
"This is probably the best thing you can purchase for your Ikea highchair. The quality is amazing. My child went from wanting to be in the highchair for very short periods of time to sitting for an entire meal plus allowing me to finish my meal!"
"My baby is 9 months old and has refused to eat ANYTHING that's touched her mouth up till today. With the footrest, she ate an ENTIRE meal and actually got full off it!!! I believe 100% it was from being stabilized with her footrest. I can't even thank y'all enough."
